Hope you’ve been enjoying the crisp autumnal weather these last few days. Got a couple of great gigs coming up, really happy to be finally taking the band to Bristol. Also, as you may have seen on Facebook – we’ve turned our little squalor in Willesden into a state of the art recording studio. Well, maybe not that good, but using a few duvets, reems of gaffa tape and a lot of patience from our neighbours, we’ve come up with something pretty close…

Dead excited to finally be getting over to Bristol and ripping it hard with the band. The Golden Lion is always up for a party and it’s a Halloween weekend special to boot so should be lots of blood and beer on the dancefloor. Fookin ace!
John Fairhurst Band – Ireland Tour 2011!!!
YES! YES! YES! The time has come to take this show on the road. Armed with sleeping bags, rain coats, instruments and balls of steel, me and the lads will be jumping in the trusty Chuggernaut* and taking that ferry to the beautiful country of Ireland. Over 11 shows and 2 weeks we’ll be hitting up Dublin, Cork and Galway to rip out some new tunes and party til the small hours. Last time I went there on my own I had an absolute blast, so I’m massively excited about this one.
* The Chuggernaut is the name we have given to the LDV van we’ll be using for the tour. It’s got a huge dent in the side and the steering is about as responsive as a dead pigeon, but y’know, it gets us there in the end. Let’s just hope it survives the whole 2 weeks!
As mentioned, we’ve been recording some brand new tracks in the house this weekend. It’s been emotional so far (as all good recording sessions should be) and has provided everything from hilarity (watching three grown men trying to clap in time together at 2am after consuming a heroic dose of cheap wine), frustration and even a confrontation with the neighbours which ended with me giving him a free copy of Joys Of Spring and him apologising(!?). However, it’s sounding pretty damn tasty and we can’t wait to let you lovely people listen. We got a nice range of stuff on there and, of course, this will be the first proper release featuring the talents of my new band, so it’s exciting times all round!
That’s all for now. Really hope to see you this weekend or over in Ireland. Keep checking the website for new stuff.
